Our story
Like a lot of families, we tried everything.
Our daughter Zoe is 15 and has ADHD. For years we chased teachers over email, sat with Zoe at the kitchen table trying to piece together what was due and when, and watched her shut down — hiding assignments she'd missed, overwhelmed by the gap between what she knew she should be doing and what she could actually face doing. The shame of falling behind made the falling behind worse.
The problem was never Zoe. Kids with ADHD want to do the work — they're not lazy, they're not defiant. They just struggle to get started. And once something is out of sight, it's genuinely out of mind. An assignment buried in an email or a portal they haven't opened in three days might as well not exist.
Everyone who needed to be on the same page — Zoe, us, her teachers — was working in isolation. Teachers didn't know what we knew at home. We didn't know what teachers were seeing at school. And Zoe was stuck in the middle, drowning quietly.
Kim said it first: "there has to be a better way — one place where we can all see what needs to be done, without it becoming another thing to manage." When that app didn't exist, she turned to Steve and said: "build it."
